Are these symptoms still possible w/ levels in the 50's? I can't seem to shake these...esp. when I get very tired. (Oh, and also that ugly D word...some depression).

They are not typical for most of us until counts are lower, but there are no absolutes for this condition. When my normal was in the 50's, then symptoms like yours indicated a need to adjust my thyroid meds or get better blood sugar control. Have you had your PCP run a full medabolic panel to check for things like low potassium, magnisium or autoimmune thyroid disease? While vitamin C doesn't do anything for platelets, it does provide support for the small capilary viens so the bruises and petechiea aren't as bad and don't lat as long.

I am quite certain these levels have been checked. I went through 2 different Doctors and had many, many blood tests...and all the rest to rule out cancer. Perhaps I need to study more on blood sugar. I rarely have white sugar but I do bake w/ raw....and I avoid corn syrup and similar items all together. It seems like the worse periods for me are when I physically work my self hard....or have a trip away. That really seems to throw me. Adding fish oils, and power greens have appeared to be very helpful. A few weeks ago I started them and I do not get so sleepy and tired throughout the day. Thanks for the advise....I suppose this is a constant learning process for us all. Have a good one!

Mrsfish,

I just posted a long note to you on your other thread. It might help you some. I'm surprised your on fish oils. While they are normally something everyone should take, they do thin the blood. That might be why you see some bruising in the 50's. You might try Vit. E instead. I explained all that in your other thread.

If you look at the food and supplement section near the bottom you will see that
fish oil and vitamin E are in the same list.
