Hi
My spouse just had routine annual physical. Found out that he is having very low vit D level of 12 ng/ml and b12 is 265 (normal range us 200 to 1100).
His latest platelet count is 99. Doc prescribed him 2000iu daily vit D n 500 mg daily vit b12.
Question is do you think by taking these vit his platelet count will also rise?.. Is there any correlation between these vit n platlet count?.

Thank so much

Usually there is no correlation. Low Vitamin D seems to be an epidemic due to sunscreen use....it's pretty common. I have chronically low Vitamin D and have to take it constantly. That dose is pretty low for such a low Vitamin D level. I was prescribed 100,000 IU's per week....keep an eye on that and make sure he gets tested again in about 6 weeks. When you get the Vitamin B-12, get sublingual. It's absorbed much better. I have low B-12 too and have done a lot of research.
