Cordyceps are fascinating to me. Makes me wonder what the first person that ate it was thinking. I commonly see it in the Chinese herbal stores but have not tried it. I came across the article below that states its immunomudulatory effect of regulating the immune system in autoimmune diseases.

"Cordyceps sinensis can help strengthen the immune system by stimulating natural killer cell activity. Uniquely, Cordyceps Sinensis has also shown the ability to impose bi-directional control, calming overactive immune systems and improving autoimmune diseases such as diabetes and lupus. For diabetics, it also helps by reducing the lipoprotein in blood."
