Maybe you could try a lower dose of revolade or try romiplostim (Nplate) instead. Or there are other immunosuppressants like mycophenolate (CellCept) and azathioprine (Imuran). See what your haematologist suggests.

  • Diagnosed in 2000, at 59, after being on moderately high doses of NSAIDs for arthritis. Splenectomy and rituxan both failed (2004). Did well on prednisone till summer 2018--then terrible reactions. Promacta since 11-19.

Maybe it's just a difference in word usage, but except for the period after the splenectomy, you probably have had ITP all along these past four years. The different treatments rarely "cure" ITP. Most of us try to find treatments that will keep us at a safe (and comfortable) level. It isn't surprising when you stopped all treatments that your platelets would drop. Ann's suggestion seems sound to me--rather than stop Revolade all together, perhaps try a lower dose. Were you able to tolerate the Revolade? Were you able to tolerate low treatments of steroids?

I'm so sorry that your symptoms are so uncomfortable.
