Promacta and Hair Loss was created by bc2789
I've been on Promacta for about two months now and have been noticing that I'm losing a lot more hair than is normal for me. At first I thought it was a side effect of withdrawal from prednisone, but it's lasted so long that I think it might be due to the Promacta. Has anyone else had this side effect?

For background, I'm female and 22 and should definitely not have any other reasons to be losing hair

I have not been on promacta but definately get hair loss after going off prednisione-it seems to last for about 3-4 months if I have been on prednisione for more than a few weeks.

Sounds more Prednisone related to me.
I've taken Promacta for nearly two years now. I did my first year at 75mg dosage, then this past year at 50mg dosage. I haven't noticed any hair loss. I'm 58, so every hair counts.

The effects of Prednisone can linger for months after stopping the drug. I'd bet it's the steroids.
