fish oil supplements was created by alexei
Want to take fish oil supplements, but PCP suggested asking my hematologist. Hematologist said okay to use. Which information is valid. Took fish oil for years before diagnosis of ITP in December, but have not taken since then. Anyone have lower platelet count using fish oil? Platelets currently 242,000.

If I wanted to take fish oil and my counts were up, I would.

I have been wondering the same thing. I was told that fish oil should be avoided due to ITP.

I also was told to avoid fish oil-Omega 3 supplements--by a hematologist I met at an ITP convention. BUT if my platelets were as high as yours, Alexei, I'll bet even that hematologist would approve.
