I've been shedding a ton of hair recently and I thought pregnant women were supposed to grow lush beautiful locks...Is it the prednisone? IVIg? Any thoughts?? I have a TON of hair so I'm not too worried about losing a bit but really what gives?!? :huh:
Diagnosed with ITP 2/7/11
Treating regularly with IVIg
Currently in the low 100's

Both Prednisone and pregnancy can cause hair loss. Hormones and steroids can wreak havoc.

Yep- every time I am on Prednisone I lose a ton of hair......

I have not lost any hair while being on pred, but I have gone from having straight hair to the curly, it is really really curly, funny how it effects everyone differently.
There is no practice run in life.

I too lost a ton of hair after long term use of steroids!
The weight gain was hard on me, but the hair loss really put me over the edge!

I went off the steroids and my hair started coming back quickly!
