What is LY% on CBC? was created by eklein
My count was great but never saw this number out of whack before - LY% is 45.8 and reference range is 14-41. Also Neu% a bit low, 42.4 with range 43-74.

On 2/25 LY% was 29.5 and Neu% 58.6.

I'm having some lupus-y symptoms, mild, wonder if it is showing a little general disease activity.

Got to admit you stumped me on this one, so I had to Google only to not find much. Best guess would be some measure of Lymphocytes.

www.medicinenet.com/complete_blood_count/page2.htm - White blood count is comprised of several different types that are differentiated, or distinguished, based on their size and shape. The cells in a differential count are granulocytes, lymphocytes, monocytes, eosinophils, and basophils.

www.medterms.com/script/main/art.asp?articlekey=4220 - A small white blood cell (leukocyte) that plays a large role in defending the body against disease. Lymphocytes are responsible for immune responses. There are two main types of lymphocytes: B cells and T cells.

Erica - my whites are always off a bit. If they are just above and below, I don't worry. They are flagged sometimes, but usually go back to normal the next time then something else gets wacky. Just part of the wonderful world of Lupus.

Ly is defnitely lymphocyte percentage. Lymphocytes and Neutrophiles (the neu) are both different types of white blood cells. It means nothing to be at 45, do not worry! The Neu would be lower becasue the numbers are percentages and they have to total a 100 percent (including the other types of white blood cells such as monocytes, basophiles). So if one cell type percentage is higher, another would have to be lower. Being a little outside the reference range is no big deal. Hope that helps.
