So I'm scheduled for Pfizer vax. I've been doing research that most of the problems with clotting are inflammation disorders. Low platelets are a result of low platelets. Needless to say, very nervous about getting this shot. What has been people's experience been with it and what have your Dr's said?

was diagnosed last July with ITP. Was the hospital for 10 days with a platelet level of 2. Since november of last year after all the treatments (steroids, Ritux, Nplate) my level has been consistently around 100. Got both Pfizer doses in March with no effect or impact on my platelet level. And I just got the third booster today. My experience is my experience which was no issues at all.

Personally I do not understand why anyone wouldn't get the vaccine as covid and the delta variant are deadly! My son's friend, young & healthy got covid last November & is still having heart issues, getting better but still some problems.

Anyway you didn't ask about my opinion. My hematologist said get it - my PCP said get it - I said I'd get it even before they said for me to get it. Was not nervous, did not check platelet count before or after, I was just very thankful I was able to get the vaccine (Pfizer) - and to be honest as soon as they say come get the booster I'll be there fast! I have had ITP since 1989.

Possible low platelets which can be addressed or possible ITU on life support machine. No brainer as far as I am concerned.
