My wife (aged 34 yrs) is a splenectomized( 2 years back) itp pt. in remission.(without drugs)

today we found out that she has become pregnant accidently.

Is there any case as my wife who has had a successful pg after splenectomy??

Will it be safe to continue or will it be the best to abort as soon as possible?

Though we have 2 daughters....the decision to abort is not our primary choice...but at the same time her health is our 1st priority.

Oh my goodness! Why would you abort? If your wife is in remission, there is no reason she can't have a very successful pregnancy. Having or not having a spleen has no impact on this at all.

There is a chance that she could come out of remission during the pregnancy. The same thing could happen if she catches a cold or any other illness, so I would not terminate the pregnancy for that reason if you want the baby. Women with lower than normal counts have successful pregnancies all the time, so even if that were to happen, chances are that both mother and baby would be fine.

Thank you so much for this information! I was "de-spleened" almost two years and have no immediate plans for pregnancy, but have been very worried about this as well. When I was first diagnosed I was told I couldn't have children, and it was devastating. I have been afraid to bring it back up with my doctor because I was afraid to be denied again. Thank you so much!
