Hi All

First a big thank you to Sandi for her great work. PDSA website is of great, I can say only support all the time since I started reading on ITP when my son is diagnosed with ITP 3 weeks back.

Do anyone has any experience of using any alternative medicine? Please let me know.

My son took a live virus mist , and in two weeks his blood count was 1. He is given ivig and in a week his blood test showed, 138k. Worried of the next blood test. Any idea how to increase his platelet count atleast to 20,000 to 30,000.

I had hopes on papaya leaf extract. But it is not working always.

Alternative treatments can be hit or miss. They do not always work or can take a very long time to see any results. At that point, you don't know if the treatment caused the rise or if he was going to remit on his own anyway. I have not known of any alternative treatment that works a good percentage of the time.

Try not to worry about the next blood test yet. Does he have any symptoms right now?

thank you for the reply. Currently , I am daily watching for any symptoms, bruises , bleeding. We have a scheduled blood test next thursday. But its so scary to check him everyday. he complains about itching a lot. Mild red mucous from the nose.

Even I am getting the same understanding, alternative medicine can be a miss too.
