Confused with 'categorising' levels was created by Jacchab
Hi all.

I'm still learning about ITP (my 10 1/2 yr old daughter) and especially some of the acronyms used across this forum. What is considered a safe level? I realise 'normal' is b/w 150 - 400. Some people consider safe within this range, some people consider safe at 25 and are still riding bikes / exercise etc. Is it dependent on symptoms? other health issues?

As I said, we are still in the 'new' stage of learning, and have been on a constant roller coaster since diagnosis in Feb of this year. This forum has been an attitude changer for me in the last few days. Any information is valuable.

Cheers,
Jac

It's best to check with your child's doctor when deciding which activities are safe at a certain count, but this is a good guide that most find helpful:

A safe count for normal, every day life is usually 30k but can be based on symptoms instead.
