This is from a different list, it's fun to see the words we use, I have no idea what this is, I do know it is food:

<<<"Frog in a pond" is good (jelly with a freddo in it- set the jelly then put the frog in at eating time), >>>

Is 'jelly' a flavored sweetened gelatin? What in the world is 'freddo'?

Thanks!
Erica

Not sure how antipodean that is. My english guess is that I think freddo frog is a chocolate sweet made by Cadbury's - chocolate in the shape of a cartoon frog, they well them here. Jelly is basically gelatine and sugar, comes in lots of different fruit flavours, you melt it in water and set it in the fridge. Do they not have this in the US, or do you call it something else?

Yes, we have the flavored gelatin. The main brand is 'Jello' and there are other smaller brands. It's often called 'jello' as shorthand no matter what the brand. Jelly means something different here, it's what you spread on bread, similar to jam.

Freddo's are very yummy. Each chocolate is shaped like a cartoon frog, standing up and dressed. Though primarily available as solid milk fingers, certain versions of the product have a cream centered flavouring. These include Dairy Milk, white chocolate, rice crisp, strawberry, peppermint, "Rainbow Crunch" and "Milky Top" (the top half being white chocolate and the bottom milk chocolate, in the style of Cadbury's "Top Deck" products).

Jelly is flavored High Fructose Corn Syrup. Spread on toast or Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwich.

Our jam is more than just flvoured corn syrup. It's made with whole fruit and sugar, about half and half. Is yours really different?
