My dog was created by Christine
Today we had our little Sheltie put down, She was 16 and had given up eating and drinking. She was one of the best little dog, loving everyone, especially the seniors in the nursing homes and the children in the local day care. We never saw her show anything but her kind and gentle nature. She is now able to chase squirrels and hopefully catch them as she never could in her life on earth. I am just writing this as an outlet for how I am feeling and I feel in this board there are people who care and can understand how I feel. Christine :(

So sorry, Christine. WE had to put our chihuahua down last year, after almost 16 years, and not a day passes that we dont think about her, and we have another dog and cat.
Our fur babies are precious, and I am very sorry for your loss.

I can understand how you feel Christine. We have a 100+lb Chocolate Lab. I know how I would feel if anything happened to her. I'm sorry for you loss.

Hi Christine, Im so sorry, It's awful when we have to do the worst thing in the world but whats right for them to stop their suffering. Now she can eat all the squirrels she can catch and drink from the freshest puddles. She will always be by you and soon you will be able to smile when you think of her or look at her photos instead of crying buckets.
When i lost Candy at 16 and half we had been through so much together and had so much fun, i can still remember her smile before she rolled in the fresh cow pat :side: :silly: , and her big warm belly and bum she used to snuggle up to me with. I lost 2dogs and 2cats within 14months, and the other cat 1yr later. They were all as thick as thieves when they were here and now they rest in the garden together. I have a picture frame with the 5 of them together half way up the stairs. I still miss them so much but it does get easier and you remember all the funny things they used to do. After losing each one, the house is so empty and i filled the void by giving a loving home to another from the rescue, i went a tad over the top though and now have 2dogs and 5cats
Take care

Sorry to hear about your dog, Christine. I can totally relate; it's been just over a year since we had to do the same with Molly, our cat. She too had stopped eating, she still drank, tho. I still miss her and don't know what I'll do if/when something happens to Sasha.

Like the others have said, the pain and grief does get easier and you'll be able to look at pictures of her without getting upset. You know we're here for you if you want to talk about her.

Christine,

So sorry to hear about your dog. It is so tough letting them go. I had to do that a few years ago with my golden retriever. He couldn't walk and had to be hoisted outside. That is when my family knew that it was time. It is so hard to say goodbye. Don't worry, the pain will ease and pretty soon you will be able to remember all the good times you had with your dog.

Thinking of you,
Natalie

So hard to have to say goodbye to our 4-legged loved ones. She left you with a wonderful gift, memories and those can never be taken away.

Hugs.

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Words cannot express enough. Remember the joys and happiness and know she is running free at the rainbow ridge.
