Tattoo's

So I have wanted them since I was young. Got my first one when I turned forty and this year I started going nuts. I just got #5 today a portrait tattoo.


My tattoo's
#1. got a patechiae (dot)
#2. string of music going into a heart and than a ECG line coming out. (to represent my love of music)
#3. The cat in the hat my kids got thing 1 and 2. (we used to read Dr. seuss when they were little) #1 was incorporated into this one!
#4. Sea turtles a mommy and 2 baby ones ( to represent me and my kids)
#5. A portrait of a baby that says around it. For my babies here and above (that way I could include all my children living and dead)


Which got me thinking who here has a tattoo? and what is it? Did you get it for a special reason?

I'm covered in tattooed but have not got anymore until I get stable. Fully sleeved on my right arm plus all over my body. Today's count 12k.

I got one during my one day mid-life crisis 3 years ago. It's on my upper right arm. It's a sea horse. It only shows if I wear a tank top or bathing suit, which is usually only at the beach or in my pool. Otherwise, it's covered. I'm not a tattoo person and this is IT!

(I begged my 3 grown kids to get one with me, but they wouldn't do it.)

I have a flower on my back but want to get something else over it, something more meaningful but am having trouble deciding. Maybe my Dogs' paw prints.

I've been tattooed since the age of 18 now 32 and ITP. What is a good platelet count to think about getting worked on. The longest I can sit, before ITP was 4-5 and I would go into shock and be sick for a day or two with flu like symptoms. Haven't been worked on in about 3 years, but I have some tattoos that I want to get finish and more I want to start.

Can't answer your question - as with everything we are all different. I know people with red in their tats and no problem - another friend had red in hers and she had a reaction to it and it was horrible.

If you know you get physically ill after 4-5 hrs I'd suggest not going over 3 hrs in a sitting.

I'd love to get one but I know I would be the one to have a reaction to it. I like tats and the art work and the stories behind each one.

Red is always an issue when it comes to tattooed it really depends on who makes it. I have red on my neck and broke out and my arm never had a problem.

My friend's tattoo ended up raised and blurred and reddened as in infection, looked like scar tissue - very bad it was! Very reputable artist she had do her Colorado Avs tat, hence the red was what made up the Avs color.

That's why I won't get one - know i'll probably end up like her.

My flower is black with purple and white. I had no reactions. I think I would do my dogs' prints in solid black
