I'll be in London June 9-13... was created by eklein
Hello platelet people,
I'm going to be in London for work Sunday June 9 through Thursday June 13. I wonder if anyone would like to meet for kidney pie or stout or (insert more mild cultural ignorance here)? I'm staying at the Park Plaza Victoria. I've never been to England before!

Also advice welcome. I'll be working all day Monday through Wednesday. I should have Sunday afternoon and evening free but very jetlagged, then evenings free.

Hi Eklein,
Just a quick suggestion; Most itpers in the UK will tend to be on the itp support association UK site and you should get some responses there from people in the London area. On the home page join the health unblocked/social network sites which are free to join and ask your questions there.
I live in Near Edinburgh in Scotland so my comments are as a visitor.we find London to be expensive and most things in the centre are overpriced. It is very multicultural with cuisine from all over the world. Plenty to see and do at little or no cost in contrast to the expensive events. If possible take a trip on the London eye ( long queues) but worth it on a sunny day with good visibility and also take a sightseeing bus.that should give you a good idea of the City and Westminster areas.these buses have frequent stops where you can get off, do some touring and hop on again and continue .Travelling by underground is easy. You may find that buying a prepaid Oyster card which you can use on the underground and buses is cheaper Beware of the usual big city pick pockets, bag thieves and tricksters found in all big cities around the world. No need for big tips in restaurants, pubs etc. but remember,London is not typical of the whole of England or British culture.
Have a good visit and just enjoy the experience.

Thanks Derek, good suggestions all. My trip was moved up two days so now I get in Monday noon June 11. I'm going to try to take a bus tour that day when I'm all tired from not sleeping on the plane. Then I'll just play it by ear, if I'm not too tired after work I'll take in the sights.
