It's a sad day for my hubby and I today. We came home last night after having supper with my parents and found our 11 year old Husky/Shephard puppy Sasha deceased. :( Today we took her to the vet to be cremated. It has been four years since we lost our 13 year old cat, Molly. We are now pet-less for the first time in 17 years.

Cindy - I'm so sorry! I know there isn't anything I can say to make it easier. It is so hard when we lose our babies...been there.

Hugs to you and your husband Cindy - it is so very hard when one of our loved 4 legged kids leaves us.

Thanks everyone! This is day 3 and it's a bit easier. Tonight will be the real test. I'll be totally alone when Steven goes to work. He took a bereavement day yesterday, but will have to go in today. We haven't stayed home much the last couple of days, so I will have to make myself stay here and do some tidying up.

Yes, it is hard when you are used to the noises that the dog makes. When we put Shelby down last year, I could swear I heard her breathing behind me all the time. It really helped that we had another dog around and I can't imagine being pet-less. Good luck and just try to keep your mind occupied.

Are you getting an urn? We have one for Shelby and I have it on our entertainment center with a picture of her. It feels nice to have her with us.

We're going to look for 3 urns. I have a lab, Molly (cat) and now Sasha. Steven had thought he'd like to build a display case for all 3 animals with their pictures.

I'm doing up thank you cards for the vet who took care of her back in January and our groomer and I've put Sasha's picture on the front. Looks really nice.
