We're getting ready without looking like we are overreacting. Got water, flashlights (and food that won't do us any good if we can't cook it). My husband thinks we won't get anything here, but I'd rather be prepared just in case.

Sandi & anyone else in the vicinity of hurricane Sandy,
Sounds horrific & I can't imagine what you must be experiencing.
I have an 'emergency list' - fortunately haven't had to use it yet. I prepared it a few years ago when we were threatened with bush fires.
We are thinking of you & pray you will be safe & intact.

We are not in a flood zone, so I'm not worried about that. High winds are the threat here. We've had two tornados in our neighborhood in the past 7 years....took out a few houses a few streets from me and tore my shed to shreds. Losing power is also a good possibility. If I disappear for a few days, you'll know why.

We're supposed to get lots of rain and high winds from Sandy, but I doubt if we do. Everytime they forecast stuff like this, we don't get it.

At times like this I can't help thinking about Bonbon. Sandi, do you know how she is or how she's doing?

Thanks, Melinda. Can't help thinking about her everytime I hear about a hurricane in the US.

So far, we're just getting high winds. I guess the rain is supposed to hit us sometime tonight and last for the next couple of days.

Steven and I got married in the tail end of a hurricane back in /96. I do believe it was Hortense.

We're fine. We had some wind but not as bad as I expected.
