officially retired! :)

I ended up with pneumonia this week and wasn't able to work the full week. I was so upset because it was my last week there. I did go in on my last day (yesterday) AMA because I really wanted another day with my co-workers and had some things to wrap up. I now have the rest of my life to recover so I don't regret the decision.

I'm not sure that it really hit me yet. I'm sure it will by next week when I keep waking up with no where to run to.

Sandi,
I hope you recover quickly & regain your strength - you're going to need it! So many things to do, places to go, people to share with, dreams to be realized!
As much as your input on this forum is appreciated, please don't spend all your precious time here - there's more to life.
Best wishes,
mj

Well done! I know that ceasing full-time work was the best thing I've ever done. I can't afford to retire yet but working part-time only is great.

Thanks, everyone. I don't like the word "retired" - makes me feel like a geezer. Is there a better word? I can't think of one.

I suppose I could say "part-time photographer", although it is really very little time.

It'll become more than part-time in time. Trust me. I do far more on my non-work days now than I ever did when I worked full-time.

By the way, what is a geezer?

Geezer - An old person, especially an eccentric old man.

I suppose I shouldn't really have referred to myself that way - wrong gender!

Congratulations Sandi!! I am sure you will find plenty to kep you busy. Unless I win the lottery, I am looking at another 20+ years before retirement. Consider your new job a "full time relaxor" for awhile.
Wishing you better health in this new adventure!!

Congratulations Sandy!! I really am happy that you decided to do this! You need the rest and more time to enjoy yourself and life. You did a great job raising your family while sick with ITP :)

I can't get it in my head that I have time. I rushed through life for 18 years. This is a new thing.
