...........you mentioned in another thread:
Another one for pain would be #8 Magnesium phos 6X:
Mag-phos is aka the PAIN Cell Salt – When pain comes up use Mag Phos for the nerve pain.

Would that also be for neuropathy symptoms?

Thanks.

Hi Melinda,

Mag phos may help to some extent, but it partly depends on the cause of your neuropathy. Especially if it's been caused by a medication, more than likely that medication will need to be stopped to end the neuropathy, or if it's already been stopped, it may need to be antidoted from the body. There might be any number of other remedies that could be indicated, too. There are others that come more to mind for neuropathy. But, I think it would be worth a try, in any case. Try it for a week or two and see if it helps. It can't hurt.

Here re some other indications for it:

#8 – Magnesium Phos (Magnesium Phosphate) The PAIN Cell Salt –
When pain comes up use Mag Phos for the nerve pain.
The Anti-Spasmodic – Cramps & Spasms; Anti-Spasmodic – Charlie Horses, Leg Cramps, Leg Cramps in long distance runners.Cramps at night especially when sleeping, wakes up with leg and foot cramps. -

Mag Phos is often the acute remedy needed in someone of a Calc carb constitution. (Calc Carb 6C to follow as their constitutional remedy – if they have chronic leg cramps long term it’s Calc Carb)

Sharp Shooting pains that radiate from the sight of the cramp. (When Hypericum fails use Mag Phos)
All kinds of injuries that cause sharp, shooting pains.

>BETTER FROM HEAT is the strongest modality for it.
Desire to put a hot, hot water bottle on it. They want HOT,HOT HOT to relieve the cramps.

Back injuries “ Pulled Back” A great Whiplash remedy – The neck cramps up (Bryonia, Rhus Tox, and Hypericum are the main whiplash remedies)

#1 remedy for Tics & Twitches of the Face.
Trigeminal Neuralgia (Spigelia, Agaricus)

Spasmodic Labor Pains that are painful.
Sciatic Nerve Pain

Things that make the symptoms Better: Massage; Pressure; Heat

Right SidedRemedy

Spasmodic Coughing – Whooping Cough
Hicoughs – Spasm of the Diaphragm

Colic in babies

Toothaches that are better from Hot drinks or putting a heating pad on it (Homeopathic Chamomile is good for toothaches when the person is ANGRY from the pain.) Severe pain in decayed teeth;

Shooting, Shifting Pains
Painful hand pains: Writer’s cramp, Piano Player’s cramp, Computer Workers,Carpenter’s – Nerve pain from using hands too much. Painter’s from holding the brush

Acute Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. (Calc Fluoratum is the chronic remedy).
Telephone workers from holding the neck crooked. Cramp in the neck with brachial neuralgia.
Nerve Headaches – headaches over the eyes (pain over the eyebrow in the indentation it’s actually a neuralgia)

Stomach cramps, Colitis, Irritable Bowel, intestinal spasms.

Parkinson’s disease.

Swimmer’s Ear – Painful nerve pain.(Kali Mur for the blockage)

Mag Phos can be put in warm water and sipped to relieve the pains

April my neuropathy is idiopathic - no reason can be found for it. Guess it can't hurt to give this a try. The small pharmacy [human] where we had our cat's medication compounded has a section with homeopathic remedies in small bottles. I'll look there.

Thank you!

Melinda,

Good luck with trying it. I just wanted to say that you want to make sure you're getting Mag-phos cell salts, and not Mag-phos, the homeopathic remedy. They are made a bit differently. The cell salts are generally labeled with #1, #2, etc. On the Methotrexate thread, I gave a few places where you can purchase them online. In the US, Hyland's brand (sometimes labeled under "Standard" brand), is what you'll find at health food stores. We have a couple of compounding pharmacies here, and they don't have them.

Also, the cell salts act more as a nutritional support (they are absorbed extremely well). I think if you saw a homeopath who could spend some time with you and look at everything you've got going on, and could find you your constitutional remedy, that would give the best results.

Aren't you in Colorado? Not sure how far these two homeopaths are from where you are. Google Steve & Aviva Waldstein. They used to be in Aurora, CO, not sure if they still are or not. They've both been in practice around 30 years. Or, if they aren't available, they maintain a list of personally recommended homeopaths that you could check out.

Melinda,

I have found the cheapest place to get my cell salts is www.luckyvitamin.com . The small bottles are 500 pellets for usually 6.50 or so and the 1000 pellet bottles are $11 something. The brand the LV sells is Hylands. Actually, Lucky Vitamin is a REALLY good place to get toothpaste, shampoo, conditioner, etc. :) And I use cell salts ALL THE TIME here. They are so good for so many things!

Thanks April. Yes it looks like the Waldsteins are still in Aurora, a suburb of Denver. www.homeopathy-cures.com But I'm tired of doctors and appointments - so I think I will try to find the #8 Magnesium Phos Cell Salt and go it myself for now. Have bookmarked his site though. I appreciate your help :)

Ok, trying to get to it. I should have thought of that, but I don't use it very often.
