Checking In was created by Angel85
Hey everyone,

Just thought I'd check in to let you know how I am doing and see how everyone else is going. I have been really busy with work and helping plan my sister's wedding in october to come on at the moment, plus I have made a decision that i am not gonna worry to much about my counts. I am having blood tests once a month now and am not due for one till next week and last count was 14 3 weeks ago. Looks like the rituximab didn't work and now we are just doing a wait and watch at the moment. The only treatments left now are ones we have already done or removing my spleen and i really don't want to do that unless it is a neccessity. Although my platlets still aren't behaving, I am in really good spirits and keeping up a positive attitude and haven't really thought much about my counts over the last few weeks which is kinda another reason i haven't thought to log on here. Hope everyone is doing well xoxox I'll try to come on more often again, i have missed it here.

WOW Lauren that was really freaky, I was just sitting here thinking of you and wondering if you was ok. I was just about to log on and send you a message.

Glad to see you are ok and you must be getting excited about the wedding. I am sorry to see the rituximab didn't work for you.

I wish you well though and good luck with the wedding.

Hey Lauren,
I am doing ok so far as the ITP last count was 200 and something so that is great. The RA is not so good but I am going to fix that, taking a leaf from your book and being positive lol.

I hope you can post some photo's of the wedding, and I hope your dad's new job is going good.
Good to see you back here though, one day someone will find an answer to all this platelet thing but it is people like you that have constant low platelets and continue to live a full life that give me confidence that all will be ok

Lauren it is always good to see you - and I was wondering where you were. Thanks for checking in! I'm sorry rituxan didn't work for you. I've lost touch with him but there was a man in town who had platelets in the single digits, couldn't get them to come up [he was even in a trial for one mediation a number of years ago], and he was doing just fine.

Wow, it won't be long until your sister's wedding - what fun!
