Lauren it happened to me today too! was created by Melinda
I am having my physical next week so this morning I went in for blood work - that way the doctor would have the results when I see him.

She finds where she wants to stick my arm & pulls out a tube - not seeing the purple capped tube I asked if a platelet count was being done. She read off lots of blood tests but not a platelet count - told her I needed one since I have ITP and need to know what the platelet count is.

She did pull a purple capped tube out and filled it. Can't believe my MD didn't include a CBC with a physical for heavens sake!

OMG, can't believe it happened to you too, at least you were able to pick up on it, i just thought it must have been the postassium test they didn't do, hard to believe a MD didn't include a CBC for a physical, she must have been having a bad day that day

WOW. Dr. must have been thinking about T-time at the course. hehehehe
I have not payed that much attention to the color of the tube caps. CBC is usually the main order.
Think you need to flat slap the Dr, on the forehead.

lol, hard to believe it's happened to two different people on the same forum, seems we (the paitents) have to be double checking everything these days, you can't rely on anything anymore.
