Hello My name is Samantha. I was diagnosed with ITP when I was 15 I am 20 now. I have had to give up a lot of activities due to ITP and have had multiple treatments to bring my platelets up. My platelets were doing good for a long period of time so I began fire fighting. I had to stop recently when they dropped again. A lot of people at the firehouse want to support me and when they found out about my recent treatment they all said "I'll give you blood!" "Do you need blood?" Fortunatly I was able to get treatment and didnt need "their blood" but I wanted to organize something to donate people in my communities blood because I know that they would be happy to do it. I just need to learn how to organize something like that. If anyone knows of any way I could organize something like this or who I could do it through that would be great! Let me know. Thanks!

I have no idea in what country you are located - but if the US then what about a blood drive through your local Red Cross?

I've never done it - just went to the Red Cross site and found the above.
