Hi and thank you! was created by donswife48
I just wanted to stop in and say hi, and thank you for all your expressions of sympathy on my loss of Don. It warmed my heart to see my online friends cared. I stop in from time to time to cheer with you when treatments are working, and am always a little sad to see new names appear. I am going to split Dons memorials between the PDSA and TM organizations, for it was both of these immune disorders that affected his life so much. This website is a blessing for us all, and I'm so thankful for Sandi, Gort, and (gosh) ALL of you for answering everyone and giving support. I also wanted to tell you that I asked that his death certificate mention ITP as a cause of death. So the cause of death is listed as immediate cause-massive intracranial hemorrhage due to or as a consequence of idiopathic thrombocytopenia purpura. It is my hope that his becoming an ITP statistic will lead to more research for treatments and drugs and also insurance companies will also be more willing to fund all available treatments. While Dons insurance never refused him any treatment suggested for him, I know that it can be a problem for others. I also wanted to say Seasons Greetings to everyone and hope your days be filled with platelets! Nancy

Hi Nancy :) So glad to "see" you again. Thank you for your thoughtfulness in donating to PDSA. I'm sure they can use all they can get! Merry Christmas to you too. Hope to hear from you again soon.

Nancy, I think about you and Don all the time - especially since this is the season to hold family and friends close. It's amazing how people that we've never seen in the flesh can touch us so dearly.
I'm glad you still stop by and thank you so much for your generosity.
Don's spirit will always hold a place here.

Take care of yourself,
-Chelle

Oh wow. I had no idea about this tragedy. I am so sorry to read this. I hope you have a relaxing holiday during which you can cherish all those memories you made with your husband. What a wonderful wife and friend you were to him during those tough times. Please, keep us updated on your life and as you take it day by day, remember that we are here for you if you ever need a shoulder to lean on.

Much love,
Natalie
